Puerto Rican superstar Ricky Martin and Swedish-Syrian artist Jwan Yosef have separated after six years of marriage.
“We have decided to end our marriage with love, respect and dignity for our children and honoring what we have experienced as a couple all these wonderful years,” the statement reads.
“Our greatest desire now is to continue having a healthy family dynamic and a relationship focused on peace and friendship to continue raising our children together, preserving the respect and love we have for each other,” the now ex-couple completed.
The singer and the artist have two children: Lucía, born in 2018; and Renn, in 2019. Ricky Martin already had the twins Matteo and Valentino, born in 2008.
The love story began in 2015 when they first connected on Instagram and began dating six months later after meeting in person in London. As a great art collector, Ricky had been searching the social network and came across the profile of Jwan Yosef.
