Achieving first place in the ANOC 2023 World Beach Games Qualifier is the goal set by the coach Rudis Gallo for the tournament will be played at the Costa del Sol National Stadium, from April 6 to 8, the first of a year full of international competitions.

The Selecta shirt, which is part of our Effort and Glory program, will also see action at the CONCACAF World Cup, to be held in the Bahamas, and at the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023.

El Salvador will host this qualifier for the second consecutive time, after in 2019 the amphitheater of the former International Center for Fairs and Conventions (CIFCO) hosted the tournament that awarded three places to the World Beach Games of that year, which were won by Mexico and El Salvador, in the male branch, and the United States, in the female category.

Although it is true on that occasion the Selecta playa got its ticket after defeating Panama in the semifinals, it ended with a bitter feeling after losing the grand final against the Mexican team, in an amphitheater full of fans.

Rudis Gallo, technical director of the team, after the start of the third microcycle yesterday, reviewed what that qualifier meant for his pupils, and the ambition they have as a team for this new opportunity.

“It was a lesson that we acquired, now there are other times, other rivals, other players, it will definitely be a different environment. We always aspire to be champions, to bring joy to our fans, to commit ourselves to our work, where we try to improve every day, both in the sporting part and in the social part”, Gallo commented.
