The president of the Regulatory Commission of the Salvadoran Football Federation (FESFUT), Humberto Saenz Marinero, confirmed that Alianza appealed the punishment imposed after the tragedy at the Cuscatlán stadium.
According to Saenz, Alianza had the right to appeal the sanction imposed by the disciplinary commission. Now Alianza’s arguments about the punishment he is serving are going to be studied.
“The regularization committee has powers to make other decisions in extraordinary cases,” said the president of the FESFUT Regularization Commission.
The stampede occurred on May 20 in the second leg of the quarterfinals between Alianza against FAS in which 9 people lost their lives in a stampede.
