A player from the Colombian youth team was injured in an attack carried out by hitmen in a barbershop in the Olaya Herrera neighborhood, Cartagena.

The establishment’s security cameras recorded the moment when an armed man entered the barbershop.

The hitman walked towards a man who was getting a haircut and shot him dead.

Two other people, identified as José Gregorio Narváez Mercado and Rafael Santos Mercado Cera, were injured in the attack by hitmen.

The latter is a Real Cartagena player and was recently called up to the Colombian U-17 team.

“Unfortunately I was in the place that was not. Thank God I’m alive, I feel like I was born again,” the young striker told the Cartagena newspaper El Universal.

Rafael Santos Mercado Cera received a bullet wound to the leg, fortunately he is out of danger.

“This has not been easy, it is difficult, I have to start again, I am alive and healthy and that is the most important thing”, added the Colombian youth team.
