The Colombian singer faces a second case for crimes against the Public Treasury in Barcelona

The Spanish Prosecutor’s Office reopened a new court case against Shakira for irregularities in the 2018 income statement.

The Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) explained that the court that will handle this new case is the investigating court number 2 of Esplugues de Llobregat (Barcelona).

Shakira will be tried as of November 20 at the Barcelona Court for allegedly defrauding 14.5 million euros.

The Public Ministry is asking for eight years and two months in prison, as well as a fine of 23.8 million euros, for six crimes of tax fraud, for allegedly evading the payment of taxes.
