The general manager of Estadios Deportivos de El Salvador, Reynaldo Avelar, spoke with “Diario El Salvador” about the canine that entered the Cuscatlán field, in the second half of the Concacaf Champions League match between Alianza and Philadelphia Union, of the MLS.

«I want to clarify that the dog is not from Edessa and it escaped from a fan who entered through gate 1, where shareholders enter. There he slipped away from his owner. They say that his master came to retrieve it when he saw the images on television. I don’t know how that fan evaded police control and entered the stadium with the dog. His dog escaped and we took him down from a box in the stadium. When they took him out of the box, he went to enter there by general sun.” Avelar told the media

The Edessa manager said the canine’s owner could not be identified “at all,” and the owner did not want to be identified to the press.

The event occurred in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Concacaf Champions League in the match that ended goalless between Alianza vs Philadelphia Union.
