The first legs of the Champions League quarterfinals are over and Real Madrid and Manchester City, due to their great quality, seem to be the only ones who have sealed their place in the semifinals.
The Spanish and English took comfortable advantages, but nothing is defined and they will have to defend the result in the second leg, playing both on the road.
Manchester City beat Bayern Munich 3-0, but the Germans are a great club and anything could happen, especially playing at home, although a comeback seems unlikely.
For its part, Madrid won 2-0, a comfortable score that, although it can be traced back, with the level that this Chelsea offers for something impractical, but not impossible.
While Inter, who also beat Benfica 0-2, will have it a little more complicated, since their level is very close to that of the Portuguese and it would not be unreasonable to think of a result that will give them a place in the semifinals those directed by the German Roger Schmidt.
Finally, Napoli and Milan was the most even match on the scoreboard, as the difference was barely a goal for Stefano Pioli’s men.
This is how the results were after the first leg:
- Manchester City 3-0 Bayern Munich
- Benfica 0-2 Inter
- Real Madrid 2-0 Chelsea
- Milan 1-0 Napoli
